2009 - 2010 Executive Board The Executive Board concerns itself with the organizational aspects of United Netherlands and its activities. In '09/'10 it consists of two positions, with the following members: |
Dianne Slot (President) has studied Arabic Languages and Cultures and Linguistics at Utrecht University. She extended her studies by taking extra courses at the Radboud University Nijmegen and working as a student assistant teaching about the basics of Islam. During her time in Utrecht she was a member of the Dutch United Nations Students Association Utrecht (SIB-Utrecht), where she had a great time participating and organizing a variety of activities, ranging from lectures, debates and simulation games, to a study trip to Istanbul. Through SIB-Utrecht she also first came into contact with an MUN. She participated in RiMUN in 2008, won an award and went on to become a delegate of the UNL delegation in 2008 . 2009. Besides this she has traveled extensively in the Middle-East including Syria, and Iran. |
Maarten van der Goot (Vice President & Treasurer) is finishing his Bachelor in International and European law at the Radboud University Nijmegen. Before joining United Netherlands, Maarten participated twice in United Netherlands. own MUN conference, Radboud international Model United Nations. Maarten later became a member of the United Netherlands delegation 08/09 that won the award for Best Large Delegation at OxIMUN 2008 and the Best International Delegation award at HNMUN 2009. During WorldMUN 2009 Maarten was an assistant-director of the Legal committee. |
Joël Hubert (Director Public Relations and Sponsoring) currently studies International and European Law in combination with Biology at the Roosevelt Academy Honors College in Middelburg. Joël has lived 18 years in Brussels, speaks fluent Dutch, English and French, and has been involved with sponsoring activities since he was a student at the European School of Brussels III. He was selected to participate in the 2007 Model European Council in Göteborg, Sweden, and has worked multiple times in the European Parliament as Parliamentary Assistant and Intern at the European Elections of 2009. Joël has joined the board in September with the goal of making United Netherlands more recognized and popular than ever before. |
High School Program Secretariat The High School Program Secretariat concerns itself with the organization of trainings for High School students followed by a MUN conference for those students. In '09/'10 it consists of one position, with the following member: |
Annemarie Mastenbroek (Director General High School Program) is currently studying Human Geography at the Radboud University in Nijmegen. This is her second study discipline, as she previously finished a bachelor in 'International Tourism Management and Consultancy' with a specialization in sustainable tourism development. In this preceding study period, she spent a half year in Madrid, Spain for an internship and one month in Kalimantan, Indonesia for her thesis research. Before joining the delegation of 08/09 she attended one Model United Nations; RiMUN, representing Senegal in the Social, Humanitarian and Cultural Committee of the General Assembly. During the United Netherlands delegation period, Annemarie was part of the Best Large Delegation to OxIMUN, representing Romania in the Space Commission and part of the Best International Delegation to HNMUN, representing the United States of America in the Special Political and Decolonization Committee of the General Assembly. At WorldMUN 2009 she was an assistant-director in the Historical General Assembly. |

Tom van Assendelft de Coningh (Secretary General Radboud international Model United Nations) is this year's Secretary-General of RiMUN. After having spent the first eighteen years of his life in the province of Brabant, he went on and moved to Nijmegen to commence his studies in Dutch Law. Soon he figured out he was not just interested in national law, and while doing his Master in Criminal Law he incorporated a substantial international aspect into his studies. His interests outside the borders of the Netherlands thereafter drove him to study International Law at the University of Barcelona for a semester. Last year Tom finished his Honours Program and started a pre-master in Political Science at the Radboud University. The master in International Relations he plans on doing has to wait for a year, because this year he commits to working towards the greatest RiMUN-conference the Netherlands has ever seen. |
Lisa van Beek (Deputy Director General Radboud international Model United Nations) is 23 years old and grew up in a small town in Twente. After high school she moved to the 'big city' of Nijmegen to study Sociology at the Radboud University. Last year she finished her bachelor in Sociology. In the beginning of 2009 Lisa went a semester to France to study Sociology at the University Paul Valery in Montpellier. Once returned she began writing her Sociology Master thesis. The upcoming year she will be starting with the Master Globalisation, Migration and Development, a specialization within Human Geography. Her biggest challenge this year however will be making RiMUN and MOTUN a great success as this year's deputy director-general of RiMUN. |

In the United Netherlands organization, the Junior Board of Studies concerns itself with the academic side of the activities. The two head delegates are in charge of the course United Nations and Multilateral Diplomacy: Theory and Practice (UNMD:T&P). The MUN-Trainer is in charge of MUN-trainings of the delegation to HNMUN. Amanda Klemann (Head Delegate) is one of the two Head Delegates that will be training the United Netherlands Delegation 2009|2010. She recently completed her Bachelor of Arts in International Law and Politics at the University College of Maastricht. Amanda was a member of the United Netherlands Delegation that was awarded Best International Delegation at HNMUN 2009, where she was Justice Rosolu John Bankole Thompson in the Special Court for Sierra Leone. Amanda was also part of the Best Delegation to OxIMUN 2008 where she represented the United Kingdom in the Space Commission. |
Wouter Kruithof (Head Delegate) studied History, religion and International Relations at University College Utrecht in 2005 - 2008. In the year 2007 he spent a semester on exchange at the University of California Berkeley. After having finished his undergraduate degree in Utrecht, Wouter went on to study at the University of Amsterdam where he was also a member of the faculty student council and platform HOHP. In the same year Wouter was a member of the United Netherlands delegation that won the award for Best Large Delegation at OxIMUN 2008, and Best International Delegation at HNMUN 2009. As part of the delegation, Wouter represented the Palestinian Authority in DISEC at OxIMUN and the United States in the Legal committee at HNMUN. Additionally Wouter served as an assistant . director for the Camp David Accords committee at WorldMUN 2009 in the Hague. |
Frank Hemmes (MUN Trainer) just started his master Physics and Astronomy at the Radboud University after finishing his bachelor last year. He was part of the Best International Delegation of United Netherlands to HNMUN in 08|09. During this conference, he was part of the Disarmament and International Security Committee (DISEC), together with current president Dianne Slot. In high school, Frank also participated in the Model European Parliament, ultimately being selected for the international MEP in Warsaw in 2004. |
